Additive Free Families

Commonly a mother presents in my clinic asking for advice on how to improve their childs:

  • Behaviour

  • ADHD

  • Sensory Processing Disorder

  • Tics

  • Autistic Symptom severity

  • Tantrums, rage and anger outbursts

  • Oppositional defiance disorder

  • Eczema, allergies and poor immunity

  • Asthma

  • Sleep problems

  • Anxiety, depression or mood disorder

  • Bedwetting

They may also be experiencing certain symptoms themselves such as:

  • Headaches

  • Fatigue

  • Muscle pain

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Insomnia

The first step to improving any of these conditions or symptoms (and many more), is taking the burden off the body by reducing exposure to artificial substances in the food and drink we consume every day.

This may sound easy, but it can be quite confusing in the early days.  Parents aren't used to reading labels, deciphering what the numbers on the packaging mean - are they safe, or are they linked to any of the problems that their family is experiencing?

Compounding this problem are the labelling laws we have in Australia.  If a food product contains under 5% of a certain ingredient, a food manufacturer isn't required to label it. Additionally, there are also certain foods such as stone fruits, grapes and shell fish that are treated with preservatives while on the vine or freshly caught.  Your child or yourself may be reacting to these preservatives without you knowing as they are not labelled.  You can see how tricky this can be for a parent.

Then there are the many deceptive names that manufacturers use to hide more well known additives such as MSG.  How on earth are you supposed to get it right, when it's not even listed on the packaging - or is packaged in generic packaging at the point of sale?

This is why I have created a service where I mentor you through this hugely beneficial change for your family.  I will educate you about which foods may be causing a reaction in your family.  I will provide you with tools and educational resources to make the transition easier.  I will look over your families favourite recipes and help you design a menu that is low reactive, specific to the health problems you child or yourself is experiencing, but appetising to your children.  I will recommend brand swaps to replace old brands with new, healthier versions so your family can he healthier and happier.

Removing toxic, chemical substances from the diet will help reduce the burden on the liver, kidneys and skin and allow them to function better to do what they are made to do, which will have enormous flow on effects in all areas of your life. Your liver will be able to burn fat more effectively, process foods more efficiently, reduce inflammation levels in the body, detoxify hormones and other substances in your body...the list goes on and on.

Many families I have helped with this transition, have found that this process alone has improved their family's health immeasurably.  Their child can now pay attention in school, sit still for longer periods of time, isn't as distracted, is more focused, sleeps better, isn't as tired, stops wetting the bed, anxiety resolves, eczema clears, headaches vanish - the improvements are simply miraculous for some family's.  I can't tell you how many mother's have mentioned that the child's teacher simply cannot believe the difference in the student's academic ability.

Take that step today and book a childrens health appointment with me.  I will help you every step of the way, with a month of free mentoring after our initial meeting.  As a qualified health practitioner, your whole health is considered and you will have the benefit of receiving safe, effective and evidence based advice.
